Ruolan’s work sits between painting and sculpture, exploring how overlooked materials, traces and provisional structures resist fixed systems of recognition. Working with found materials and spatial interventions, she is interested in moments when familiar ways of understanding begin to loosen.
Her work creates shifting hierarchies of attention, bringing into view latent relationships between material things. Within these spaces of hesitation, meaning gathers around what lingers at the margins of language. Her practice traces the contours of these encounters while acknowledging the inherent inaccessibility of their core.
